Café Jasmino lives up to its name with an inviting, cosy atmosphere that feels more like a well-loved living room than a café. Plush, old-fashioned furniture, dim warm lighting, and a calm, quiet ambience make it an ideal spot to unwind. Lamps by tables can be adjusted by customers, board games are available to borrow, and the friendly staff help reinforce a homely, unhurried vibe that welcomes long stays and relaxed conversation.

The food offering is simple but thoughtful. Vegan options are present, though they’re clearly the exception rather than the rule. The vegan breakfast stands out as a highlight: a generous plate with multiple spreadables (like hummus and babaganoush), roasted vegetables bursting with flavour, fresh avocado, tomato, cucumber, fruit, bread rolls, and jam. Its combination of components invites playful mixing and makes for a satisfying meal. Drinks include a good range of fresh teas — notably a house blend of mint, orange, lemon, ginger, and honey — while coffee is decent, if not expertly crafted.

Café Jasmino prioritises comfort and atmosphere over precision or trendiness, and it succeeds beautifully on those terms. The space is serene, making it a pleasant place to linger with friends or enjoy a slow start to the day. It’s less a bustling café and more a communal living space with coffee and food on the side.

Vegan Options

3/5

Vegan options are available but limited, making them more of an exception than a core focus. That said, the vegan breakfast is excellent: generous, creative, and well balanced, with a wide variety of fresh and flavourful components. Plant-based milk options are also available for drinks.

Workability

2/5

As a workspace, Café Jasmino is limited. Most seating consists of low sofas or armchairs paired with coffee-table-height surfaces, which aren’t reliable for laptop use. The only practical work seats are stools by the window, which are functional but lack comfort for extended sessions. There are no visible power outlets or free Wi-Fi, though the very low noise levels at least support focus if you’re comfortable working with your laptop on your lap.

Coffee Craftsmanship

3/5

The drinks menu is solid but unremarkable. There’s a good selection of fresh teas, including a pleasant house blend with mint, orange, lemon, ginger, and honey, while coffee is decent enough without being expertly prepared.

Health Focus

4/5

Café Jasmino leans gently towards healthier offerings, particularly evident in its generous vegan breakfast that features plenty of vegetables, fresh fruit, and wholesome spreads. While vegan choices are the exception rather than the default and the overall menu doesn’t fully commit to “health café” standards, there’s a clear intention to offer thoughtful, balanced food rather than purely indulgent fare.
