This café has a genuinely engaging atmosphere, with lovely furniture and a rotating mix of unique artwork on the walls. A few standout wooden sculptures add real character, giving the space a slightly gallery-like feel without becoming pretentious.

The music leans a bit cheesy, with familiar covers and standard pop tracks, but it stays just on the right side of tolerable. It doesn’t quite match the creativity of the space, though it’s unlikely to bother most people.

The menu is where things get more interesting. Alongside the usual café staples, there’s a selection of inventive dishes, from something like a red wine–poached pear to Asian-inspired options such as ginger chicken rice and pumpkin ramen. Despite this, it still comfortably functions as a café, with cakes and a couple of pastries available if you’re just after something small with a drink. The tea selection also stands out, with options like “honey jujube,” which comes across as a ginger tea sweetened with Chinese red date syrup.

As a place to work, it performs fairly well with a few caveats. There’s no clearly advertised Wi-Fi, so it’s effectively a bring-your-own connection setup. The space is compact, and noise from the counter and kitchen can carry, though that’s somewhat unavoidable given the layout. On the plus side, there are enough tables that you don’t feel like you’re taking up valuable space.

The tables themselves are a highlight in terms of design, with an unusual, slightly compressed shape that gives them a distinctive look. They’re on the narrower side, so while a laptop and phone fit comfortably, there’s not much room beyond that. Seating is adequate, with thinner cushions that prioritise practicality over plush comfort. Plug sockets are available, which is a definite advantage.

Overall, it’s a characterful café with creative food and a strong visual identity, offering a solid, if slightly imperfect, setup for getting some work done.
